Stainless Steel Spring Wire
Delivery Program
We offer stainless steel spring wire in various AISI grades (according to EN ISO 6931-1).
Stainless steel spring wire | Standard dimension range: Ø 0,10 mm - 12,00 mm
Stainless steel spring wire is offered in three AISI grades - AISI 302, AISI 316 and AISI 316Ti. This corrosion resistant wire type is has good welding properties and is industrially used for the production of springs (e.g. in the automotive industry). Other industries where this stainless steel spring wire is used include the petroleum or petrochemical industry or the food industry or for constructions.
We keep a permanent stock of more than 1500 tons of various grades and dimensions. This allows us to deliver orders often immediately or with only short waiting times. If you are interested in bendable stainless steel wires, which we offer in our standard range from 0,1 mm to 16 mm, please visit this product page. If you are looking for smaller quantities, please visit our online shop.
AISI Grades from our Delivery Program
We offer our customers three austenitic AISI grades
The austenitic stainless steel grade AISI 302 is characterized by a low magnetizability and good welding properties. AISI 302 allows hot forming, cooled by air, at 1200-900 °C and solution heat treatment with cooling by air or water at 1000-1100 °C.
Technical data
B.S. 970, 2096
EN-standard ISO 6931-1
EN-grade 1.4310
Density (kg/dm³) - 7,9
Thermal conductivity (up to 20°C) - 15
Electronic resistance at room temperature (in Ω mm²/m) - 0,73
Welding properties – Good with common welding processes
AISI 316 is an austenitic chrome-nickel-molybdenum steel that is characterised by a high corrosion resistance to non-oxidising acids and chlorine-containing materials. AISI 316 has a low magnetizability and a medium weldability. The material allows hot forming, cooled by air, at 1200-900 °C and solution heat treatment with cooling by air or water at 1020-1120 °C.

Welding properties – Medium with common welding processes
AISI 316Ti is titanium-stabilized austenitic steel, which can be used for temperatures up to 550 °C. AISI 316Ti is further characterized by an excellent corrosion resistance, a low magnetizability and good welding properties. The material allows hot forming, cooled by air, at 1200-900 °C and solution heat treatment with cooling by air or water at 1020-1120 °C.
